Every nook and cranny of this beautifully appointed Queen room with full bath is filled with nautical treasures depicting the history of our great Lake Erie. The full bath has a garden whirlpool tub for two and hand painted lakescape wall murals.

Arbor Room
A memorable experience awaits you in this charming King/Twin room with half bath decorated with an entire summer of beautiful roses and other blooms. It invites romantic interludes and magical memories of the gardens of long ago.

The rates at The Gilded Swan Bed and Breakfast range from $85 to $125 plus tax.
A full gourmet breakfast is served in the main dining room. We will make every effort to meet special dietary needs if the information is provided at the time of your reservation.

Policies
Policies include:
- Please check if after 3pm and out by 11am.
- Smoking is permitted on the porch.
- We regret that we are unable to accomodate children or pets.
- Payment is by cash or credit card.
- Reservations must be canceled 10 days prior to arrival date for no charges to occur. Cancellations made within the 10 day period will be charged the room rate unless the room can be rented to another guests. Every effort will be made to do so.

Area Attractions
Lake Erie
Our Great Lake Erie is the 4th largest of the lakes and the shallowest. The lakes were carved by glacier ice Millions of years ago. Ashtabula has several beautiful sand beaches where you can enjoy swimming, water sports and fishing as well as shell and beach glass hunting. Lake Erie is known for perch and walleye and has many charter boats for a day of fishing. The sunsets during the summer months are not to be missed.
Covered Bridges
Ashtabula County is home to 18 covered bridges including the shortest and the longest in the United States. The construction of these rustic bridges dates back to the 1850’s. Seven of the bridges are new but of the style and time of the past. They are romantic and scenic and well worth the ride to visit.
The 2nd weekend in October the bridges are decorated for the Annual Bridge Festival. All bridges are staffed by volunteers to tell the history of each bridge and to answer questions. Many bridges also feature historic campers, local food, entertainment, crafts and a parade.There are organized tours or driving maps to explore these rustic beauties while in the county.
County Trails
The Western Reserve Greenway Trail commences two blocks south of the Gilded Swan and runs 44 miles (27 miles are in Ashtabula County) through Ashtabula and Trumbull county. Bike your way through scenic bridges, rural villages and waterways. Motorized vehicles are NOT permitted but snowmobiles may be used during winter months with a permit. Come and enjoy the many peaceful miles of biking pleasure and then soak your tired muscles in one of the inviting jacuzzi tubs at the Gilded Swan.
The Barn Quilt Trail is fast becoming a fun tourists attraction. Replicas of quilt patterns are displayed throughout the county on the sides of bridges and businesses. Visitors are provided driving directions and interesting stories behind each quilt. Make sure to experience this while visiting the county.
Wineries
Ashtabula County is wine country. There are 32 award winning wineries within A short drive from the Gilded Swan. Many also feature great food options from full meals the delicious snacks. Each winery is unique in setting, décor, and history. All are nestled in the rolling grapevine fields and on the lake and river shores. Fun awaits visitors as many feature local music and events like hot air balloon rallies, car shows, and special tastings of a wide variety of wines. Be sure to try the ice wine, a speciality of this region. It is known for its sweetness and pairs well with cheese and desserts.
Ashtabula County Museums
Ashtabula is known for its rich history. The museums in the county reflect this diversity. Museum topics range from bridges to railroads, Civil War and underground railway To tales and artifacts of life on the Great Lakes and local rivers. Explore the history of the area thru visits to the many unique museums.

Ashtabula County is know as Ohio Wine Country and has the most wineries in Ohio. Rolling hills give this unique growing region the feel of Napa Valley. During the really, cold winter, ice wine is created. Berries are frozen solid then pressed to release the sweet juice. Directions
From Cleveland and West or Erie and East:
- Follow Route 90 to Route 11. Turn NORTH on Route 11 toward Ashtabula.
- Follow Route 11 to Route 20. Turn WEST (left turn off the ramp) toward Ashtabula.
- Follow Route 20 about 2 miles to West Avenue. Turn LEFT. The Gilded Swan is 2 blocks down on the left at the corner of West Avenue and 51st Street. Parking is in a fenced lot behind the home.
From Pittsburgh and South:
- Follow the Turnpike West from Pennsylvania to the Route 80 exit in Ohio.
- Follow Route 80 East to Route 11 North. Turn NORTH on Route 11 toward Ashtabula.
- Follow Route 11 to Route 20. Turn WEST (left turn off the ramp) toward Ashtabula.
- Follow Route 20 about 2 miles to West Avenue. Turn LEFT. The Gilded Swan is 2 blocks down on the left at the corner of West Avenue and 51st Street. Parking is in a fenced lot behind the home.
